Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research at The Institute for Government

Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research hosted a wonderful champagne reception at The Institute for Government on 19th May which was kindly sponsored by Melcombe Partners.  In addition to welcoming existing supporters and ambassadors to this prestigious venue, we were delighted to introduce new faces to the charity to hear about our work.

As well as enjoying the champagne, canapes and each others company, guests heard about our mission to improve the quality of life for people with spinal cord injury, with a spotlight on one of our projects to prevent Neuropathic pain.

Posters of our five projects were on display, along with the shortfalls we are raising money for. We were delighted that guests felt inspired to donate substantial sums to theses projects after the event, and are extremely grateful for their generosity.  If you were unable to attend the evening and would like to support any of the projects below, please donate here.

Finally, we were delighted to be displaying a painting by our ambassador Davey Jose, whose work explores the impact that spinal cord injury can have on the body, both inside and out. He draws inspiration from the Old Masters, and the historical relationship between art and medicine.  If you would like to see more of his paintings, please click here.
