On 26th January, we welcomed over 50 guests (patients, families and staff) to Cafe Oasis in the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC) for an evening of fish & chips and panel discussions with our charity ambassadors: Davey, Jamie, Jason, Kat and Ralph.

The guests, who were mainly patients, were able to listen to a fantastic talk from Trustee, Nigel Henderson (former Clinical Director of the NSIC), before asking our ambassadors with lived experience of spinal cord injury their top tips, and invaluable words of advice. Patients and our ambassadors were incredibly open, and guests were really grateful for the opportunity to learn so much about living with spinal cord injury beyond the hospital and our research.

We could not have run the event without our sponsor Bolt Burdon Kemp, and the help and support of NSIC staff and of course our ambassadors.

Thank you to everyone involved and we look forward to hosting a similar event later in the year!
