Despite soaring temperatures, we had an incredible turn out at our latest patient fish and chip event which was generously sponsored by our Gold Partner, Fletchers.

More than 40 current in-patients joined us for the evening, many accompanied by their family members, to learn about the vital research we fund, as well as hearing first hand from others with lived experience who openly shared their advice on managing daily life with a spinal cord injury.

The evening kicked off with a talk from the Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research team, followed by a tasty fish and chip supper and a fantastic Q&A session delivered by our Ambassadors, Jason Gunn and Kat Panagaki, alongside NSIC Patient Education volunteer, Irene Frost, who all kindly joined us to provide invaluable peer support answering a variety of questions posed by attendees.

A huge thank you also to the Fletchers team who provided so much help throughout the evening from dishing our salt and vinegar, handing out goody bags and answering patients questions! Thank you for giving up your time to support the evening.

And a thank you too to Cafe Oasis and Terri (Patient Concierge) at the National Spinal Injuries Centre for enabling us to host the event, and supplying much needed cold drinks all evening!
