Corporate Employee Hall of Fame 2021

We'd like to recognise the fantastic employees in companies we work with who go the extra mile to help us raise funds and awareness for people living with the complications of spinal cord injury. If you'd like to be recognised for your work to promote spinal cord injury research, and help generate income for Stoke Mandeville  Spinal Research, please email [email protected]

Fiona Kenny | Bush & Co

Bush & Co are a brand leader in expert witness, assessment and case management services in the UK. Fiona Kenny is Head of Case Management & Rehabilitation and ever since she attended our Research Showcase at the National Spinal Injuries Centre in 2017, she and Bush & Co have followed our journey with interest and enthusiasm.

Fiona says "The work being done by the team into spinal cord injury in terms of managing and overcoming secondary complications and improving the lives of those with a Spinal Cord Injury is extremely inspiring and encouraging. Many of the complications their research addresses are what we see our clients living with each day and the work we are able to support provides great insight and hope for the future."

Alex Dabek | Bolt Burdon Kemp

Alex is a senior associate in the Spinal Injury team at Bolt Burdon Kemp.  She specialises in complex claims involving spinal cord injuries sustained as a result of clinical negligence and has been recognised as a key lawyer within the clinical negligence sector by the Legal 500 2021.  She also acts for people who have sustained a spinal cord injury as a result of accidents and has represented many vulnerable clients, including those who lack mental capacity and children.  Improving the quality of life for her clients and getting the best results for them is what most motivates her.  Ever since Alex got involved with SMSR we have witnessed her genuine passion to help people living with spinal cord injury, and her support for the charity is far reaching.  Thanks to Alex, Bolt Burdon Kemp was the first company to sponsor our popular Virtual Quiz and be our first post-lockdown Wheels at Work participants.

Deborah Sleightholme | Hugh James

Deborah Sleightholme is a Consultant Lawyer at Hugh James with a passion for improving the future for people who have suffered serious or life changing injuries or illnesses or who have been bereaved.  Having represented clients & run their legal claims over the past 25 years, she now enjoys helping specialist lawyers grow their own personal portfolios & develop & promote their expertise, meaning that people who need their specialist advice can reach them quickly.

We are delighted to be providing speakers for the Hugh James spinal conference and that Deborah has secured Hugh James as sponsor of one of our Virtual Quizzes, matching fundraising on the night.  Thank you!
