We are delighted to announce our support for the launch of the Professor Paul Kennedy Legacy Scholarship for Psychology.

Together with the University of Sydney and the National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, we will provide annual funding for early career psychologists working in spinal cord injury – particularly those from lower income countries – to attend an ISCoS Conference.

The scholarship also encourages legacy recipients to visit and network with local Spinal Cord Injury Centres.

Richard Tolkien, SMSR Chairman commented: “Professor Paul Kennedy’s pioneering research into the psychological aspects of spinal cord injury has contributed greatly to the quality of life of spinal cord injured people. He was an inspiration to all of us and we are absolutely thrilled to support this legacy scholarship that will enable a new generation of psychologists to learn and network, ensuring the interests of people living with spinal cord injury are at the forefront of the work that they do.”

Scholarship criteria and application dates to be announced.
