On 20th August this year, with the help of my niece Saba and nephew Alex, we will be taking part in the Superhero Triathlon powered by Marvel for Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research.

Dressed up in our Superhero costumes, we will be challenged to complete various distances, swimming, biking and push/running. Please sponsor us - or even come down to Dorney Lake to cheer us on!

We are raising money for Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research, who I've recently become an Ambassador for. They are an amazing charity that are developing solutions for 3 main issues that people with SCI’s suffer from on a daily basis. Debilitating bladder infections, chronic nerve pain and developing technologies that improve upper limb movement for quadriplegics. If you'd like to know more, please click here.

This particularly resonates with me because I suffer from both bladder infections that have left me needing hospitalisation and chronic nerve pain that can be overwhelming. It’s not always the paralysis that holds you back but all the secondary symptoms that are the hardest to manage. Any improvement in either of these areas would significantly improve my quality of life, mental health and wellbeing.
